Right-to-Left (RTL) Language Support in Mapme
Mapme fully supports right-to-left (RTL) languages such as Arabic and Hebrew for interactive maps. This ensures a smooth and accessible experience for users who read and write in RTL languages.
There are two types of RTL support available:
1. RTL Support for Map Content
This option enables RTL formatting for all content entered through the Mapme editor, including location names, descriptions, and addresses.
When enabled, the layout of content areas—such as the overview and location sections—will be displayed in a right-to-left orientation.
To enable: Go to Appearance > Layout > Layout Direction and select Right to Left.
2. RTL Support for Basemap Labels
When you choose an RTL language such as Arabic or Hebrew as the map’s language, the basemap’s text labels (e.g., streets, landmarks, points of interest) will automatically display in that language and follow the right-to-left direction.
However, even when the map language is set to “Local” or English, some labels in RTL-speaking regions may still appear in Arabic or Hebrew if no translation is available. In such cases, enabling RTL for basemap labels improves display accuracy and readability.
To enable: Go to Appearance > Layout > Layout direction > Enable RTL for basemap labels.
Both RTL content support and basemap label support work together to provide a seamless experience for RTL language users.
