We’re excited to introduce a major update to the Mapme user interface.
The redesigned interface provides a clearer, more intuitive experience for all maps with categories—especially maps that use multi-select or multi-level filters.
Here’s an overview of what’s new.
Redesigned Map Home
The Map Home is now organized into three distinct areas:
- The branding header at the top of the content panel
- Categories and filters displayed below the branding header
- A dedicated About the Map page for additional information

More Visible Map Branding
The branding header can include:
- A brand image
- The map title
- A short description
- An action button, when applicable
Based on customer feedback, we’ve made map branding more visible across the different map views. The branding header now remains accessible when viewers browse search results or filtered results.
By default, the header automatically collapses when search or filter results are opened, leaving more space for the results list. Viewers can also expand or collapse the header at any time.
You can choose to keep the branding header expanded at all times. In the Mapme Editor, go to Settings > Layout > Branding and enable Always show the branding area.

A Dedicated “About the Map” Page
You can now add a detailed map description without taking up space needed for categories and filters.
Viewers can open the full description by clicking the three-dot menu or the description text in the branding header. The About the Map page opens within the content panel and displays the map’s branding information and complete description.
Each About page also has its own URL, allowing you to link directly to it. Here’s an example:

Improved Advanced Category Filters
We’ve completely redesigned the filtering experience for maps that use advanced category options, including multi-select and multi-level filters.
The new interface makes it easier for viewers to move between filter options and matching results. It also includes:
- A Clear all option to reset all selected filters
- A Restore option to return to the most recent filter configuration
- New controls for selecting or deselecting all subcategories within a multi-level category
You can also customize or translate all text displayed in the filter interface. In the Mapme Editor, go to Categories > Multi-Level Category Settings.
