The Copy from another map feature lets you reuse location data from maps in the same Mapme account.
Instead of recreating the same location manually, search for a location that already exists in another map and copy its available data into the current map. This is especially useful when you manage multiple maps that reuse some of the same places, projects, destinations, or points of interest.
Mapme also lets you duplicate locations within the same map. Learn more about duplicating locations.
How It Works
- Open Copy from another map: Click Add Locations, then select Copy from another map.
- Search for a location: Enter the name of a location that exists in another map in your Mapme account.
- Select a result: Matching locations are displayed in the results. The most recently created locations appear first.
- Copy the location: Select the location you want to reuse. A new location is created in the current map using the available data from the original location.
The copied data can include:
- Location name
- Address
- Description, including formatting
- Media, such as photos, videos, audio, 360° images, and 3D tours
- 3D Buildings associated with the location

Advanced Search
You can refine the results when searching for locations in other maps.
Exact Phrases
Wrap words in double quotation marks to search for an exact phrase.
For example, “Eiffel Tower” returns locations containing the exact phrase Eiffel Tower in the title.
Searching for Eiffel Tower without quotation marks can return locations containing either Eiffel or Tower.
Exclude Terms
Use a minus sign (–) to exclude a term from the search.
For example, Tower -Eiffel returns locations containing Tower but excludes results containing Eiffel.
Use Case Examples
Create Interactive Travel Itineraries Faster
Tour operators often reuse the same destinations across different trips and itineraries. Once those destinations exist in one Mapme map, Copy from another map makes it easy to reuse them when creating new itineraries.
This saves time and helps keep location content consistent across maps. Interactive itineraries can then be embedded on a website, shared on social media, or sent directly to travelers.
Create Tailored Sales Maps
Companies with projects across industries such as health care, education, real estate, or entertainment can reuse existing project locations to quickly build maps for specific prospects or presentations.
Instead of recreating project details for every sales map, teams can use Copy from another map to reuse the most relevant locations and create a customized presentation more efficiently.
